New Kids On The Block Greatest Hits
In the late 80's, the big hair music was making way for the grunge music that would define the 90's. But in the middle of it all, came a group of kids from Boston that would take the world by storm, and send millions of teenaged girls into a screaming fit. It was because of the New Kids On The Block Greatest Hits, that girls of all ages could be found squealing, screaming and even crying over these five Boston boys.
Their first real hit came in 1988 with the release of the song Please Don’t Go Girl. At first, it didn’t seem that this song would do much better than any from their first album, but thanks to a Florida radio station, the song began to catch on and eventually peaked at #10, becoming the group’s first real hit song.
From there, the NKOTB came out with huge hits such as “Hangin’ Tough”, which was also the name of their second album. “The Right Stuff” became their next hit, reaching #5 on the charts, and then the song “I’ll Be Loving You” was their achieving moment when it reached the #1 position early in 1989. In May of the following year, they released the album and title single, “Step by Step”, which also hit #1. However, it would be the last time they would have a #1 single as a group.
Though the boys did reunite in 2008, with the release of a brand new album, it’s the the New Kids On The Block Greatest Hits that will live in the hearts of fans for many years to come. They might be older now, but we’ll always love these kids.
