The 1980's were known as the MTV generation. Many musical groups would probably not have been as popular as they had been, if it weren’t for MTV and the venue of the music video. One group, in particular, gained immense popularity from this media phenomenon. The New Kid On The Block Videos were one of the main reasons that these five boys from Boston played to such large arenas of screaming fans.

As their popularity began to climb, their videos became some of the most watched pieces on MTV. It gave girls all over the world a chance to decide which of the Boston boys was their favorite, and gave the boys a chance to showcase their own talents. Each of the kids had a particular vibe that set them apart from the rest of the group.

Though the group broke up in 1994, they reunited in 2008 to outstanding reviews. They released a new album, along with a couple of new singles. And, in true NKOTB form, they made a video to go along with the song “Summertime”. It proved that although the boys are all grown up, they can still make good music and cause the girls to swoon over their videos.

Over the years, girls of all ages have fallen in love with these Boston boys. From the mid-80's, through the 21st century, the music of this famous boy band has been brought to the forefront of the music industry, thanks in part to the New Kids On The Block Videos.

In 1984, a bunch of boys from Boston were brought together by the music mogal, Maurice Starr. Within only a short time, this group would become one of the most famous boy bands of the 80's and 90's. Though they each had something special about them personally, it was because of the New Kids On The Block Songs, that made girls scream and grow weak in the knees.

Their first song was released in 1986. The song, “Be My Girl”, received some air time in the Boston area, but as for the national market, they seemed doomed from the start. They released a second song from their debut album called “Stop It Girl”, but again, it went nowhere. It was beginning to look as though the group would never catch a break.

In 1988, the group released their third single, which came from their second album. The song, “Please Don’t Go Girl”, seemed destined to go the same way as the first two, but then their luck began to change. A radio station in Florida began giving this song more air time, and it quickly became one of the most requested songs at the station.

After that, it was a fast moving roller coaster for the boys. They released two more albums, with several more songs which made it to the top of the charts. Though they officially broke up in 1994, they reunited 14 years later, releasing a new album and adding to the many New Kids On The Block Songs.

Did you grow up in the 80's? The big hair, bright clothes, and of course, the awesome tunes. If you’re one of the millions of girls from that era, you probably remember the New Kids On The Block Music. This group of kids from Boston broke onto the scene in the mid-80's, but didn’t gain any real popularity until 1988.

When their first single came out, they were called a bubblegum band. Due to the fact that these kids were so young, their voices sounded much like the other kiddie groups that were emerging onto the scene. However, the boys despised the term, and wanted to do whatever they could to shake the stereotypical idea. With time, their songs took on a more refined sound, and in time, they created a sound all their own.

In 1993, the group split with their long-time manager, Maurice Starr, and worked on an album that they both wrote and co-produced. The problem was that it was much different than the music their fans had become accustomed to and sales of their album plummeted. By the end of 1994, the group decided to go separate ways, and said good-by to a decade of NKOTB.

In 2008, the group reformed and release a brand new album. However, it’s the original New Kids On The Block Music that not only gave millions of girls a reason to scream, but has allowed a whole new generation of women to introduce their own daughters to the music of the 80's.

In the late 80's, the big hair music was making way for the grunge music that would define the 90's. But in the middle of it all, came a group of kids from Boston that would take the world by storm, and send millions of teenaged girls into a screaming fit. It was because of the New Kids On The Block Greatest Hits, that girls of all ages could be found squealing, screaming and even crying over these five Boston boys.

Their first real hit came in 1988 with the release of the song Please Don’t Go Girl. At first, it didn’t seem that this song would do much better than any from their first album, but thanks to a Florida radio station, the song began to catch on and eventually peaked at #10, becoming the group’s first real hit song.

From there, the NKOTB came out with huge hits such as “Hangin’ Tough”, which was also the name of their second album. “The Right Stuff” became their next hit, reaching #5 on the charts, and then the song “I’ll Be Loving You” was their achieving moment when it reached the #1 position early in 1989. In May of the following year, they released the album and title single, “Step by Step”, which also hit #1. However, it would be the last time they would have a #1 single as a group.

Though the boys did reunite in 2008, with the release of a brand new album, it’s the the New Kids On The Block Greatest Hits that will live in the hearts of fans for many years to come. They might be older now, but we’ll always love these kids.

In the late 1980's, a group of kids from Boston jumped on stage, and into the International spotlight. They were young, cute, talented, and called themselves the New Kids On The Block. For ten years, they became a phenomenon that seemed unstoppable, causing teenaged girls around the world, to swoon and scream in sheer delight.

They released their first album in 1986, to less than rave reviews. They were managed by R&B guru, Maurice Starr. Their second album, titled Hangin’ Tough, was again received by less than exciting results. However, it was thanks in part to a radio station in Florida, that their first release became popular. In the end, the album spent more than 130 weeks on the charts, and won two American Music Awards.

Though they had become one of the most popular boy bands of the time, the boys split in 1994. After parting ways with their long time manager, they tried to produce their final album on their own. However, their popularity had already begun to wane and because of severe anxiety attacks, Johnathan Knight left the group. From there, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the boys gave up.

That only lasted until April of 2008, when the New Kids On The Block confirmed rumors that they were getting back together. They released their first single in May of that year, and the full album, “The Block”, was released in August, reaching #2 position in September. Though they’re not kids anymore, it’s quite clear that the NKOTB are still one of the hottest groups in the world.
